We want to share with the parish how the Vestry will handle confidential discussions related to the rector search and hiring interim support during this period of transition.
The Vestry will add confidential Executive Sessions to the beginning of vestry meeting.
John T. Andrews, Jr., Senior Warden Diane Hrozencik, Junior Warden On behalf of the Vestry, we are pleased to announce that the Search Committee for a new Rector is to be made up of the following members:
The first thing that the Committee needs to do is to prepare a Parish Profile that will be posted after Father Philip Carr-Jones steps down as Rector on June 30. The Parish Profile will provide information to potential candidates about who we are as a church, where we want to go as a church and what we are looking for in a new Rector. The Committee will involve the congregation in the development of the Profile. After the Profile is posted publicly, the Committee will start to receive applications from Candidates. At the end of the search process the Committee will present three candidates to the Vestry. The Vestry will then select the candidate that the Bishop will call as the new Rector. Please join the Vestry in thanking the members for their willingness to serve and in prayerfully supporting the Committee as it performs its critical mission. John T. Andrews, Jr., Senior Warden Diane Hrozencik, Junior Warden At the 8:00 o’clock service on January 4, the new Senior Warden, John Andrews, reported that the vestry had a very productive 2-day vestry retreat Friday, January 2, and Saturday, January 3. The Vestry covered a lot of ground. On the first day, the focus was on identifying and discussing all aspects of how the church functions. On the second day, the focus was on the process of transitioning to a new Rector.
John felt that the Vestry worked very well together and was appreciative of the effort that Vestry members and Fr. Phil and Deacons Dot and Michelleslie put into making the retreat successful. In the true spirit of “Church of the Holy Appetite” we enjoyed wonderful food. Friday’s dinner was provided by Jane and Jeff Anderson, Saturday’s breakfast by Father Phil and Saturday’s lunch by Andy Follansbee. John Andrews and Diane Hrozencik, the new Junior Warden, look forward to providing you with periodic updates as the Vestry continues its work in the months ahead. Eva Lesniak made this announcement at the 10:00 o’clock service. |
